Blazing the Trail 2014/15

Our Blazing the Trail programme has been exceptionally well supported once again this year with many outstanding examples of the work that takes place every day across Gateshead’s Primary Schools.  Thank you to all involved for your on going support and engagement with BTT.  Having had the opportunity to speak with so many of you over the course of the year, it’s always heartening to hear that the programme is valued and of use to you in your role as PE Co-ordinator and in the wider school context.

This programme continues to grow and 2014/15 saw a record number of schools awarded the Gold Blazing the Trail Kitemark. The quality of evidence supporting submissions was fantastic, and we as an SSP are excited about the programme developments and enhanced opportunities.  As I’m sure most of you will be aware the programme went through some big changes last year and saw the introduction of the Pathway Projects, which were extremely popular and are an element we hope will continue to go strength to strength.

The final version of the Blazing the Trail Medal table, detailing individual school achievements has been published onto our website and can be viewed via this link.  We would once again like to congratulate all the Schools for their engagement in the project. We gave out a total of 36 Kitemark Certificates (2 Bronze, 1 Silver and 33 Gold), please see the below for a breakdown of the 2014/15 Kitemarks received by schools.
