Gateshead Schools Health and Wellbeing Award (GSHWA) Framework

The Gateshead Schools Health and Wellbeing Service (GSHWS) exists to support and encourage school development within the area of health and wellbeing.  In particular, the GSHWS encourages schools to develop and enhance their existing level of provision via engagement with a dedicated award framework – ‘The Gateshead Schools Health & Wellbeing Award’ (GSHWA).

We are pleased to announce that we are currently abandoning specific application windows for this award. This means that schools can apply at any time for a GSHWA throughout the 2020 Summer term. For further details please see the full document here.

Gateshead Schools High Quality Physical Education, Physical Activity and School Sport (HQPEPASS) Mark

The GSSP Quality Mark is a prestigious award that will evidence the strength and quality of physical education and sport in your school. It will raise the profile of the subject and the school and will promote the outstanding work that is being undertaken daily. It will complement and help to integrate other initiatives, programmes and accountability measures being implemented. The achievement of a GSSP PEPASSHQM will provide strong evidence and accountability for Ofsted in relation to the PE and Sport Premium funding, a PE ‘deep dive’ during Ofsted inspections and whole school effectiveness and outcomes for pupils.  For further details please see the full document here and you can access all award criteria documents below.
