(Left to right:  Karl Richardson, Amy Dobson, Stephanie Kendal)

The Gateshead/Whickham SSP recently appointed its new Sports Ambassadors for 2009-2010.  The team will be headed up by experienced 'Platinum Sports Ambassador' Amy Dobson from St Thomas More Catholic School (centre).  Amy's main role will be to act as a mentor for the 'YA' team, providing help, guidance and support throughout the year.

Our two new 'Gold Sports Ambassadors' are Karl Richardson (left) and Stephanie Kendal (right), both from Lord Lawson of Beamish School.  The Gold Ambassador role is partnership wide and they will be responsible for the promotion of the Olympic/Paralympic Games and the ideals/values attached to the games.

Beneath the Platinum and Gold Ambassadors, a team of 'Silver Sports Ambassadors' are to be appointed (2 in each Gateshead Secondary School).  The Silver Ambassadors will form the majority of the YA team, working within their own Schools and Cluster Primary Schools to spread the Olympic/Paralympic message.
