KS1 Outdoor and Adventurous Festival

On Wednesday 26th June the inaugural KS1 Outdoor and Adventurous Festival took place at Thornley Woodland Centre. 110 KS1 pupils came along to participate in the event. They arrived at Thornley Woods with great excitement and anticipation for what was in store for them that morning.

This festival gave all children the opportunity to participate in 5 exciting outdoor and adventurous challenges as follows:

    1. Bark Rubbing
    2. Bird Spotting
    3. Pond Dipping
    4. Fire craft including marshmallow toasting
    5. Treasure and Scavenger Hunt including a search along the way for our GSSP mascots: Energetic Eddie, Determined Daisy, Active Alfie and Fit Freddy (very sadly now lost in the outdoors - see below)

The Festival was a great success and everyone involved had a wonderful time. Thank you to Greeneye North East (a leading outdoor education company) who helped us to organise and deliver this very successful event. A selection of photographs from the festival can be found in our Media Vault by clicking this link http://www.gatesheadssp.org.uk/media-vault/gallery/gid/159

A big well done to all the pupils and teachers that came along and participated in the event and helped make it such a good success.

On a much sadder note, while at Thornley Woodland Centre one of our KS1 Mascots \'Fit Freddy\' went missing, please use this poster to help us find him Missing_Poster_-_Fit_Freddy.doc
